Paul Klee

Paul Klee

Paul Klee was born in Munchenbuchsee, Switzerland on December 18, 1879. He was brought up in a musical household. His father Hans Klee, was a music teacher and his mother Ida Frick, was a singer. He was the youngest of two children. Klee began to explore art and music at an early age. He began to play the violin at age seven and his drawings were said to exhibit a considerable amount of skill. Initially, most of his energy had been focused on music. He eventually became disenchanted with music and his interests ultimately gave way to the study of visual art.
